The rules of 1-wall Fives are designed to be simple, quick to pick up and allow children to start playing immediately.

1.Games are played by 15 points and players must win by two clear points. If the game is tied at 14-14, it is the first to 16 points.

2.You can only score points when you are serving. If you serve and win the rally, you score one point. If you are receiving and win the rally, you now serve.

3.To serve, stand within the service area. Let the ball bounce once and then hit it against the front wall so that the ball bounces back and lands behind the service line.

4.If the ball falls short of the service line or lands outside of the side lines, then a second serve is hit. If the ball falls behind the end line, the player loses the rally.

5.Once the ball is in play a normal rally continues. Players aim to hit the ball against the front wall and keep a rally going. A player loses the point if either:

a)a shot does not hit the front wall.

b)the ball hits the front wall but lands outside the playing area

c)the ball bounces twice before a shot is played

6.If the serving player loses the point, the opponent then serves. If the receiving player loses the point, the receiver then goes to serve, and the server becomes the receiver.
Just as with the rules, Fives equipment is very simple and all that is required to play is a tennis ball.
These are the dimensions for a Championship Court. The recommended size for the Junior Court (up to Year 7) is half of this and for Senior Court is three-quarters of this. All these measurements are recommendations but the court size may depend on available space and the game can be enjoyed on any size court regardless of age.
